🌟 New Program:¡Canto y Salto!🌟
"¡Canto y Salto!" means “I jump and sing” in Spanish - and that’s exactly what this joyful new program is all about! 💃🎶
Join us for a low-cost Spanish Immersion experience designed for families and caregivers with little ones (ages 0–5). Each weekly session is filled with music, movement, free play, guided activities, circle time, and a shared meal — all woven together in Spanish to support natural, playful learning.
🎵 Every session features a special song to help introduce new words and ideas
📚 Families will receive a take-home booklet with songs, rhymes, and a themed playlist to keep the learning going
Come connect, play, and explore Spanish together in a warm, welcoming space 💛
Time: Tuesdays, 9:45am - 11:45 am
Location: Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House, 2131 Renfrew St. Vancouver

$56 per series and each series has 4 two-hour sessions

Neighbourhood Small Grants are Open for Applications! @nsgnetwork
Applications are accepted from March 10th to April 30th, 2026, in Cedar Cottage, Hastings-Sunrise, and Renfrew. Projects must be completed by November 30, 2026.
Applications will be reviewed by the Cedar Cottage, Hastings-Sunrise, Renfrew Neighbourhood Grants Committee and Community Coordinator once applications close, and you will hear the results within four-five weeks.

This program started with funding from the United Way BC Kapwa Strong Fund, which was established after the Lapu Lapu events of April 26, 2025. 🤍
Grief and trauma look incredibly different for someone who was there at the time of the incident, someone who was there that day, someone who planned to go to the festival, someone who lost a loved one, someone who was connected to the Filipino community.
The creative process was essential in introducing ease and lightness in this program. Some of the themes that emerged from the sessions were belonging, safety, and connection. These art pieces were created in response to them.
